About
The platform is built and operated by Martin Vendemia and a small team out of Maryland. The framework comes from five books on family networks, generosity inside kin, and what’s been lost when families fragmented.
Most platforms optimize for engagement. We optimize for the giving going on between people who care about each other. Daisy notices the patterns. The community does the actual giving. The platform exists to make sure both keep happening, in a world that pulls families apart by default.
The framework
The five books are the foundation. They argue that the grandmother function — the person who held the kin network’s center for forty years — is structural to functional families, and that modern Western family organization has systematically dismantled it. The books name the function, trace the dismantling, and describe the rebuild.
The platform is the operational expression of that framework — Daisy holding the relational ledger, the kin network coordinated, the giving made visible without being scored.
Read the books at grandmatriarchy.com. Most of what’s true here is true there first.
The organizations
- GMA Daisy Inc — for-profit, operates the platform you’re on.
- Grandma Daisy Inc — 501(c)(3) public charity, runs educational programs, awareness campaigns, and grant-funded community work. Separate operation, separate books.
- Inner Group Media — publishes the books.
The for-profit and the charity are kept structurally separate — different banking, different operations, different data. The platform is the for-profit’s product. The charity does charity work.
